Music Guide - Loma Alta Campus
As a performer and an educator, Lucia Acitelli has been involved in music education for 20 years. She has been a teaching artist in the Glendale Unified School District since 2016. With Guild Opera of Los Angeles, she created a standards-based curriculum, taught music workshops and performed in operas in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Ms. Lucia has been involved in outreach with the University of Southern California and the Natchez Opera Festival. As a singer she has performed throughout the United States and Europe with a focus on collaborating with composers to create new works.
In Ms. Lucia’s music classroom the students will “sing, say, dance, play” in every class. Students will be encouraged to explore musical ideas using movement, speech, singing and various classroom instruments. Music classes at Oak Knoll Montessori will be focused on process over product.
Ms. Lucia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts and a Masters of Music from the University of Southern California. She has completed her Orff Schulwerk level one training.
