Welcome to

Oak Knoll Montessori School!

We are delighted in your interest in Oak Knoll. There are so many ways to get to know a little more about our school. If you haven’t already, please explore our website where you’ll find information about all the programs we offer from Toddlers through to Adolescents as well as information on the Montessori Method and Dr. Montessori’s innovative work with children.

While the website is a wonderful way to begin to understand what we do, the best way to understand Oak Knoll is to observe in a classroom as part of a tour. Observations are a wonderful opportunity to see the implementation of the Montessori pedagogy within the classrooms and to experience the joy of the children exploring and engaging with their environment, peers, and teachers. [Observations and tours will be available after November 10th] At OKMS, our mission is to serve the development of the children. We support and meet the needs of each child by guiding, nurturing, and challenging the children to rise to their potential. Each classroom is carefully and lovingly prepared by the Guide to appeal to the child’s inherent curiosities.

As an AMI school, we adhere to the principles set out by Maria Montessori. These principles support child learners of all types through multimodal learning, mixed-age classrooms, observation, a developmental lens that leads to specific classroom communities for each age level, and materials that allow a child to internalize and explore concepts deeply. You can learn more about AMI principles here

Visit our Parent Education page to learn about some of the components of an Oak Knoll education. Or check out our Parent Resources where you will find links to additional resources about Montessori education. There is so much we offer and it is difficult to encapsulate it in a two-dimensional form. We welcome you to engage with our community, ask questions and explore.

Thank you, again,  for your interest in Oak Knoll Montessori School today. We look forward to learning more about your family and working together through our admissions process
