Yi Chen has over 15 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. She has worked with various age groups from toddlers to kindergartners. Besides studying the Montessori Method, she also studied RIE, traditional, as well as progressive methods. Her experience includes working at Hess International School, a bilingual school in Taipei, as well as the Taipei Montessori School as a lead guide and she also spent time teaching in a nature-based Reggio program.
Yi Chen is a trained classical pianist and percussionist. Her passion for music led her to teach percussion as a music instructor in Taiwan. She obtained her AMI diploma at Maria Montessori Institute in London, England after receiving her BA in early childhood education. Yi Chen believes in the importance of early childhood education because it lays the foundation for children’s growth and is fundamental for providing children with the necessary opportunity to practice early critical thinking skills.
In her free time, Yi Chen is an avid photographer and enjoys using her film camera. She also loves playing piano, knitting, and helping feral cats and all animals in need.
